Graham Holter Words for Wine

>> My name is Graham Holter and I am a UK-based drinks writer, best known for my work as Group Editor of Off Licence News, Wine & Spirit and Drinks International.

I've been connected with the drinks industry since 1994, and have been writing for a living since 1988. During that time I'm happy to say I've picked up several awards for my work.

Now an independent communications consultant and journalist, I am working with a limited number of private clients, ranging from large industry bodies to small wine producers, advising on all aspects of their marketing material. This can range from newsletters and websites to the back labels on their wines.

I can completely reshape your written communications. Better still, I can train your team and give them the confidence to produce sharp, incisive copy of their own.

How can I help you? Let's start with a friendly conversation. Use the link on the right to make contact.

>> Labelled without love

Why is it that so much work goes into the sourcing, production and distribution of wine ... and yet so many suppliers and retailers put so little effort into their back labels?  I'm still amazed at how many wine bottles carry meaningless statements like "good with pasta", or expect their consumers to understand the complexities of carbonic maceration. It needn't be like this. Read my tips for successful wine labelling here.

>> Keep it simple, stupid

We are all communicators. Every day, we listen, we talk, we digest, we persuade. Yet when it comes to the written word, something weird happens. Even some of the most fluent verbal communicators are all at sea. This is, sadly, particularly true of the drinks business. Whether your target audience is your trade customers, or the paying public, your words are all-important. Graham Holter>> Holter on the loose

So far, I've resisted the temptation to launch my own blog. I can't imagine that's going to change any time soon. But if you'd like to know a bit more about me, you can either do a Google search (where I'm embarrassed to say my half-marathon times are on record for all eternity) or click here to read my potted biography.
